This independent primary school provides an excellent standard of teaching for boys aged 6-11.

Requirements

This school was seeking a reliable IT support provider to:

• Provide guidance on implementing a functional IT infrastructure
• Guide them in making use of their interactive whiteboards
• Discuss what changes needed to be made in order to share files effectively, and essentially ensure smooth running of the IT throughout the school

How we helped

Our starting point was meeting with teachers and governors to construct an effective plan of action. We collaborated with them to identify what changes needed to be made in order for the school to achieve their goals, and how to implement the sweeping changes whilst avoiding disruption to lessons.

DNA-TECH worked with this school to transform their IT infrastructure by:

• Installing a leased line, and remodelling their network infrastructure
• Installing a new effective server – this meant educational content could be easily used in each classroom
• Ensuring that each student and teacher have their own personal domain accounts
• Replacing routers and switches, which allowed the school to use content filters, giving the staff access VPN access and additional advanced functionality
• Upgrading or replacing computer hardware
• Enabling shared folders between departments. advising how shares can be structured between departments for greatest productivity
• Setting up an ICT suite from scratch, which now has 12 computers that are frequently used and maintained
• Facilitating use of interactive whiteboards to their potential, promoting enhanced teaching methods and enabling students to call in to the IWB and be part of online lessons during lockdown
